The New York Times, the New York Daily News, and the Boston Globe recently reported on New York's major success in reducing the city's number of smokers using our anti-smoking TV spots featuring Ronaldo Martinez.

NEW YORK AIRS NEW ANTI-SMOKING SPOTS FEATURING RONALDO

Having tasted success in 2006, the New York Health Department decided to re-launch the campaign again with additional Ronaldo TV spots. Buzz around Ronaldo's message has pervaded the city and its blogs, influencing New Yorkers of all stripes, as recent coverage in the Gotham Gazette and on NY1 indicates.

In the mere matter of weeks, nearly 20,000 New Yorkers had taken advantage of the Department of Health's nicotine patch and gum giveaway reports the NY1 news.

OUR DISAPPEARED SELECTED FOR SHOWING BY INDEPENDENT FEATURE PROJECT

The Independent Feature Project (IFP) in New York selected Our Disappeared for its documentary-in-progress section. GEOVISION presented the project to potential partners and distributors through IFP.

A prestigious Telly award was won for the innovative Act FAST! TV PSA. The educational program has also been getting rave reviews from stroke educators and community groups.

ANTI-SMOKING PSAS SPARK NEW YORKERS TO QUIT

The New York City Public Health Department is airing the TV spots produced by GEOVISION for the Massachusetts anti-smoking campaign featuring Ronaldo Martinez. The effect Ronaldo's story had on New Yorkers was so powerful that numerous national media outlets, including ABC's Good Morning America and the New York Daily News, did stories on Ronaldo and the campaign. The Public Health Department subsequently received nearly 15,000 calls for quit-smoking services - more than triple the amount received in the same time period in 2005.

GEOVISION DOCUMENTARY SHOWS AT MOMA

The Museum of Modern Art in New York City showed our film Ringl and Pit in memory of photographer Ellen Auerbach on her 100th birthday. That same weekend it showed in Munich, Germany at the Pinakothek der Moderne.

STROKE AWARENESS ANIMATION CACHES EYES

The popular and catchy Act FAST! television PSA aired numerous times throughout the month of May and even aired during Oprah and the Red Sox. To date, over 36 states have requested the animation for use as part of their stroke education programs.

AWARDED A PRODUCTION GRANT BY LATINO PUBLIC BROADCASTING

Latino Public Broadcasting awarded GEOVISION a grant for the production of Our Disappeared, just as director Juan Mandelbaum was leaving to shoot for two weeks in Argentina.

ONE OF THE MOST AMBITIOUS INITIATIVES IN BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD OF MA HISTORY!

Working with lead agency Partners and Simons and physicians and patients from the Joslin Latino Diabetes Clinic and Beth Israel Deaconess Chelsea, GEOVISION launched an integrated Latino Community Health Campaign. BCBS called the campaign one of the "most ambitious multicultural health initiatives in the company's history."

WHALES GET A LIFT

Massachusetts Environmental Trust branded license plates have risen sharply after years of decline following the launch of an integrated cause-marketing campaign. The animated PSA produced with Fablevision, with music by John Kusiak, got several thousand airings.

The GEOVISION work-in-progress, Our Disappeared, was awarded a development grant by Sundance. The grant was one of only two awarded in this extremely competitive program.
